Jennings <br />Administrator Bridge and Road Department <br />Indian River County Court Rouse <br />Verp Beach, Florida <br />Dear Sir: <br />Amoco Production Co. requests permission to conduct a vibroseis <br />survey along the North South county road running through the center <br />of Sections 15, 22, 27: and 34 T -33-S R -38-E Indian River Co.,7Fla. <br />In the vibroseis method of exploring for gas and oil no 1 <br />drilling or blasting is required. Energy initiation is achieved <br />through the use of truck mounted vibrators. These vibrations are, <br />reflected by subsurface geological beds that may be oil bearing. <br />These reflected vibrations are detected by geophones placed on the <br />shoulder or in the bar ditch of the. road being tested.The data is <br />transmitted along a cable from the geophones to a recording truck <br />to o <br />on a digital e for <br />where it is amplified, filtered andstored �- p <br />future proscessing. All survey flags and litter is picked.up along <br />the line as,the-geophones are recovered. We adhere to the Florida <br />State-D.O.T.. safety manuel while working along county as well as state <br />roads. We never block the normal flow of traffic but we do try to <br />slow its speed by the use of signs andflagmen in the vicinity of our <br />equipment. <br />Our normal progress is approximately five miles per day,' <br />consequently our work should be completbd within one workday on the <br />above mentioned road and should be accomplished by the first of Sept.. <br />If you desire further information please advise us.
