ORDINANCE NO. 86 - 9 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING APPENDIX A OF THE CODE OF <br />LAWS AND ORDINANCES KNOWN AS THE ZONING CODE; PERTAINING TO <br />FUNERAL CHAPELS AND THE PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE GENERAL <br />COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; CREATING A DEFINITION OF FUNERAL <br />CHAPELS,; ESTABLISHING FUNERAL CHAPELS AS A PERMITTED USE IN <br />THE LIMITED COMMERCIAL AND GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICTS; <br />AMENDING THE PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE GENERAL COMMERCIAL <br />DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; SEVERABILITY; <br />REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that: <br />Section 2.-8, Language and Definitions, is hereby amended by <br />adding: <br />Funeral Chapels. A premises, structure or site used as a <br />commercial establishment for conducting memorial services or <br />funeral services prior to burial or other disposition of deceased <br />human remains. Such premises, structure or. site shall not be <br />used for the preparation of deceased humans. for burial, or for <br />the burial, prolonged storage or permanent disposition of <br />deceased human remains. <br />Section 19JA CL: Limited Commercial District, is hereby <br />amended as follows: <br />SECTION 19JA} CL: LIMITED COMMERCIAL DISTRICT <br />B.
