BARBER, CHAIRMAN OF <br />THE LONG RANGE PLANNING AUTHORITY AND A MEMBER OF THE CITY -COUNTY <br />.JOINT PLANNING COMMISSION. THE ATTORNEY WAS INSTRUCTED TO PREPARE <br />A PROPER RESOLUTION. <br />THE CHAIRMAN PRESENTED A LETTER FROM WILLIAM H. <br />MCCLURE, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD SUPERINTENDENT, REQUESTING <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY TO ENDORSE <br />THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENT #4. <br />FACTS IN BRIEF: Public School and Junior College Building Amendment <br />Amendment No. 4 <br />"Pubti,c Sekooe and Junior. This will be on: 1-S,.ballot- as'Amendment No. 4. <br />With no increase in reve<&;.:;Aaxes, or greater cost than provided <br />by current law, this proposed amen,:ment will: <br />Provide, in the first year of operation, $198 million for <br />urgently needed construction at Florida's public schools <br />%and $35 million for junior college construction. <br />I/Reinstate the authority formerly held by junior colleges <br />to participate in this construction program. <br />Expand provisions of the present school construction pro- <br />gram to permit these funds to be used for the first time <br />EQr maintenance, remodeling and repair. <br />UT <br />1972 <br />6001 16 PAUA 27 <br />
