COMMISSIONER MASSEY BROUGHT.TO THE ATTENTION OF THE BOARD <br />HIS DESIRE TO INITIATE AN EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM TO IMPROVE THE ROADS <br />IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. HE RECOMMENDED THAT ON AN EXPERIMENTAL <br />BASIS, A PORTION OF HEAVILY TRAVELLED CITRUS ROAD BE DRESSED AND <br />SEALED WITH OF ASPHALT TO SEE JUST HOW LONG THIS TYPE SURFACING <br />WILL LAST. WITH THIS INFORMATION,► COMMISSIONER MASSEY STATED, WE <br />WOULD KNOW JUST HOW LONG THIS TYPE OF ROAD SURFACING WOULD LAST <br />AND ON WHAT ROADS IT COULD BE USED FOR THE BEST'WEAR, OR NOT USE <br />IT AT ALL. <br />THE CHAIRMAN STATED HE WOULD BE RELUCTANT TO SPEND <br />MONEY TO BUILD ROADS THAT HE FEELS WILL NOT STAND UP UNDER HEAVY <br />TRAFFIC. <br />COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS STATED THAT IF TRAFFIC CONTINUES <br />TO INCREASE HE WOULD RECOMMEND SELECTING KEY ROADS AND HAVE THESE <br />ROADS CONSTRUCTED CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME. <br />NO ACTION WAS TAKEN BY THE BOARD AT THIS TIME. <br />REVEREND TAYLOR APPEARED WITH A REQUEST TO PURCHASE A COUNTY <br />OWNED LOT NEXT TO HIS HOME. REVEREND TAYLOR'S HOME FACES PROPOSED <br />EAGLE TRAIL AND HE MUST USE EAGLE TRAIL TOG.ET HI'S CAR IN AND OUT <br />OF HIS GARAGE. HE WAS INFORMED THAT EAGLE TRAIL WILL NOT•BE GRADED <br />INTO A STREET AND HAS HEARD A RUMOR THAT SOMEONE IS INTERESTED IN <br />PURCHASING THIS LOT. REVEREND TAYLOR STATED IF THAT LOT IS SOLD <br />HE WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO HIS GARAGEi <br />THE CHAIRMAN SUGGEST THAT REVEREND TAYLOR MEET WITH <br />CITY OFFICIALS AND REQUEST THEY GRADE AND SHELL THE ROAD IN FRONT OF <br />HIS HOME AND THE COUNTY WILL CONVEY THE LOT TO THEM, AS STATED IN <br />THE ORIGINAL TRANSACTION. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER MCCULLERS, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER Loy, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE BOND IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $2,000.00 FOR EDWARD J.
