violation does not contest the citation, a civil penalty of less than <br />the maximum allowed will be assessed, and may be punishable by <br />civil penalty not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) . Each <br />day or fraction thereof during which the violation continues shall <br />be considered as a separate offense. Pursuant to F . S . section <br />828.27, the board of county commissioners shall impose and collect <br />a surcharge of five dollars ($5.00) upon each civil penalty imposed <br />for violation of an ordinance relating to animal control or cruelty. <br />The proceeds from such surcharges shall be used to pay costs of <br />the minimum standards training course for animal control officers. <br />Said surcharges shall be held in a separate account to be used <br />only for the purpose stated herein. The board of county <br />commissioners may enforce the provisions of this chapter by <br />seeking injunctive relief or any other remedy available by law. <br />
