Parking Lot Tire Stop Requirements. Sections 954.07(4) and <br />(5) are hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(4) General Parking Lot Design Criteria <br />(a) All required parking spaces, dumpster spaces, <br />loading areas, and other vehicular areas shall be <br />identified and marked in conformance with the <br />standards of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control <br />Devices (MUTCD) and the Federal Highway <br />Administration (FHWA)-guidelines. For fully sodded <br />or stabilized parking areas that are not paved, the <br />public works director shall require applicable <br />marking and signing standards. <br />(b) Parking areas shall have no driveway aisle(s) which <br />dead ends without a backing apron which has a <br />minimum depth of five (5) feet. <br />(c) Pedestrian movement: Separation of vehicular and <br />pedestrian traffic. Parking and loading areas, as <br />well as driveways and other vehicular circulation <br />areas, shall be clearly identified and separated <br />from principal pedestrian routes along buildings <br />and at pedestrian crossings through the use of <br />curbs, pavement markings, planting areas, fences or <br />similar features designed to promote pedestrian <br />safety. <br />Coding: Words in glIZESLI • type are deletions from existing law. <br />Words underlined are additions. <br />
