(4) Bikeways. <br />A) Locations. The project developer shall install or escrokA7 <br />as provided for in section 913.09(4)(E) a bikeway(s) <br />along the project site's frontage on all rights-of-way or <br />easements as designated in the county bikeway/sidewalk <br />plan and along all streets designated by the community <br />development department as school access corridors. With <br />the approval of the board of county commissioners, <br />sufficient funds may be escrowed by the developer with <br />the county to complete the required bikeway. <br />(B) Specifications. Bikeways shall be constructed in <br />accordance with specifications found in the County's <br />comprehensive bikeway and sidewalk plan. In reviewing <br />proposed bikeway specifications, the public works <br />department shall consider the applicability of the <br />following Guidelines. Bikeways shall: <br />1. Be the width specified in the Count <br />—Comprehensive bikeway and sidewalk plan;_ <br />2. Be constructed in accordance with the "Bicycle <br />Facilities Planning and Design Manual" (1982 <br />revision) prepared by the Florida Department <br />of Transportation and the Bikeway and Sidewalk <br />Plan. <br />(C) Alternate specifications. Gxdhere any of the above <br />guidelines are impractical or impossible to implement, <br />the applicant, with the approval of the public works <br />director, may substitute suitable alternate <br />specifications described in the referenced design manual. <br />D) Identification. Bikeways shall be posted or identifie <br />by permanent markings as follows: <br />ea Characteristics <br />ommercial <br />Sign -Placement, Pavement- <br />Markinci Criteria <br />At each intersecting street an <br />thereafter every 500 feet <br />
