THE ADMINISTRATOR READ A LETTER FROM LEWIS GREENE, DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS REQUESTING APPROVAL FROM THE COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR COUNTY EMPLOYEES AND EQUIPMENT TO WORK IN A JOINT EFFORT WITH <br />CITY EMPLOYEES TO BRING THE COMMUNITY THEATER SITE UP TO GRADE LEVEL. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR STATED HE HAD NO OBJECTION TO WORKING IN COOPERATION <br />WITH THE CITY ON THIS PROJECT. COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS SUGGESTED <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR INVESTIGATE THE POSSIBLITY OF,USING A DIRT HAULING <br />COMPANY AND NOT DISRUPT THE COUNTY FORGES. IT WAS ALSO SUGGESTED THAT <br />LARGER TRUCKS BE RENTED TO GET THE JOB DONE QUICKLY. THE CHAIRMAN <br />STATED THAT THIS BOARD WILL COOPERATE WITH THE CITY AND INSTRUCTED <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR TO INVESTIGATE THE ABOVE POSSIBILITIES. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE LEGISLATIVE <br />DELEGATION WILL MEET AT THE INDIAN RIVER COURTHOUSE, COUNTY COMMISSION <br />ROOM ALL MORNING AND POSSIBLY INTO THE AFTERNOON ON .JANUARY 25, 1973. <br />CITY COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY OF VERO BEACH, MAYOR AL <br />FLETCHER, STUART CAMPBELL, DAVID GREGG, FRED CARLSEN, ARTHUR NEUBERGER <br />AND ROBERT F. LLOYD, CITY CONSULTING ENGINEER APPEARED AND CHAIRMAN LOY <br />STATED THAT THIS BOARD HAS MADE A COUNTERPROPOSAL TO THE CITY OF VERA <br />BEACH AND WOULD THE CITY COUNCILMER LIKE TO DISCUSS WHY THIS PROPOSAL <br />WAS NOT ACCEPTED. <br />MAYOR FLETCHER EXPLAINED THAT 10% OF THE 121% PROPOSED <br />IS UNKNOWN COST FACTOR AS IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO COME UP WITH ACTUAL <br />COST FIGURES AT THIS TIME. <br />THE BOARD SUGGESTED THE WORDING THEN READ 100% OF ACTUAL <br />UNIT COST PLUS 10%. <br />IT WAS THE OPINION OF THE CITY COUNCIL THAT AT A PREVIOUS <br />MEETING IT WAS AGREED THAT THE CITY AND.000NTY ENGINEERS MEET TO WORK <br />OUT A RATE SCHEDULE, WHICH THEY DID, AND THEY WILL ABIDE BY THE <br />ENGINEERS RECOMMENDATION OF 121%. <br />AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION COUNCILMEN CAMPBELL SUGGESTED THAT <br />THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PUT IN WRITING THEIR BEST AND FINAL RECOMMENDATION <br />AND PRESENT IT TONIGHT AT THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING FOR ACCEPTANCE OR. <br />REJECTION BY THE COUNCIL. <br />THE CHAIRMAN THANKED THE CITY COUNCILMEN FOR COMING. <br />THE BOARD THEN ADJOURNED AT 1:00 O'CLOCK P.M.
