Section 307.04. Regulation of parking in parking areas located on <br />property owned or leased by Indian River County, <br />Florida. <br />The board of county commissioners may regulate parking, in <br />county rights-of-way, county easements, and parking areas located on <br />property owned or leased by the county, whether or not such areas are <br />located within the boundaries of chartered municipalities, by posting <br />parking regulations. Nothing in this section shall be construed as <br />prohibiting parking in approved driveways that may be located in <br />county rights-of-way or as regulating private roads. <br />is hereby amended to read as follows <br />Section 307.04. <br />Regulation of County owned or leased parking <br />areas, sidewalks, and areas contiguous to said <br />parking areas. <br />(1) The board of county commissioners may regulate parking, in <br />county rights-of-way, county easements, and parking areas located on <br />property owned or leased by the county, whether or not such areas are <br />located within the boundaries of chartered municipalities, by posting <br />parking regulations. Nothing in this section shall be construed as <br />prohibiting parking in approved driveways that may be located in <br />county rights-of-way or as regulating private roads. <br />(2) The use of any County off-street parking facilities is restricted <br />to motor vehicles being operated at the time of parking for the operator <br />or passenger to use the County facility served by the off-street <br />parking facility, provided, however, that no motor vehicle not otherwise <br />restricted from parking in such facilities shall be permitted to park <br />therein if the gross weight of such vehicles shall exceed 2 tons or the <br />length of such vehicle shall exceed 20 feet at such vehicle's longest <br />point or the width of such vehicle shall exceed 7 feet at such vehicle's <br />widest point. <br />(3) No person shall at any time operate a vehicle in any County <br />off-street parking facility for any purpose other than parking purposes <br />and the necessary driving in such facility required of the operator of <br />any vehicle in entering and leaving such facility in connection with the <br />use of the facility as a parking area. <br />(4) No person shall at any time park any vehicle in any County <br />off-street parking facility in other than those areas specifically <br />designated by markings, signs, or other devices as areas where <br />parking is permitted. <br />(5) No person shall 'at any time park any motor vehicle in any <br />designated parking place in a County off-street parking facility in such <br />a manner that the rear of such vehicle shall extend more than 20 feet <br />from the curb, mark, or sign designating the front limit of such <br />parking space . <br />(6) When an area is marked for parking spaces, a vehicle parked in <br />that area shall only be parked within the lines delineated as a parking <br />space. No vehicle shall extend over any lines marked for parking. <br />Any space marked or sign erected for angle parking shall be observed <br />by the motor vehicle being parked with the front wheel against the <br />curb or barrier. <br />(7) No driver of any vehicle in any lane marked for traffic movements <br />in a County off-street parking facility shall turn such vehicle so as to <br />proceed in the opposite direction in the same lane. <br />- 5 - <br />Section <br />307.04 <br />follows <br />which currently reads <br />as <br />Section 307.04.
