THIS WAS PRESENTED <br />JO -THE BOARD FOR THEIR INFORMATION AS THE COUNTY INSURANCE POLICY <br />WILL EXPIRE�SOON. COMMISSIONER BOGOSIAN WILL INVESTIGATE THIS <br />MATTER AND REPORT AT THE NEXT MEETING. <br />THE COMMISSIONERS WERE IN RECEIPT OF A LETTER FROM <br />SENATOR EDWARD J. GURNEY, REGARDING THE MANY QUESTIONS RECEIVED <br />-FROM VARIOUS LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN FLORIDA IN CONNECTION WITH <br />REVENUE SHARING ALLOCATIONS. THE LETTER FURTHER STATES THAT IF <br />AN ERROR EXISTS A PROTEST SHOULD BE FILED. <br />MR. THOMAS SUGGESTED TO THE BOARD THAT A TELEGRAM BE SENT <br />TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY, OFFICE OF REVENUE SHARING, WASHINGTON, <br />D.C. TO PROTEST THEIR STATEMENT OF ADJUSTED TAXES. THEIR FIGURE <br />Is $1,158,901.00 AND OUR FIGURE IS $1,488,305.11. MR. THOMAS ALSO <br />SUGGESTED WE PROTEST THEIR POPULATION FIGUREl- THE REGIONAL PLANNING <br />COMMISSION IS IN THE PROCESS OF DETERMINE CORRECT POPULATION FIGURES <br />AND ALSO, WE'SHOULD REQUEST A COMPLETE MATHEMATICAL COMPUTATION OF <br />ALL FIGURES RELATING TO OUR ALLOCATION. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED L.S. THOMAS, FINANCE OFFICER <br />TO SEND A TELEGRAM TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY PROTESTING THEIR <br />FIGURES AS STATED ABOVE, <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD.OF A LETTER FROM <br />t= <br />HARRY BUTLER: STATING THAT THE PLANS FOR A BOAT RAMP AT SEBASTIAN <br />INLET HAVE BEEN APPROVED. <br />i <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR WAS IN RECEIPT OF A LETTER FROM MAYOR ;- <br />ROLAND MILLER OF THE TOWN OF INDIAN RIVER SHORES REGARDING A FIRE: <br />STATION TO BE CONSTRUCTED ON LAND.PROVIDED FOR BY THE TOWN OF <br />INDIAN -RIVER SHORES. THE MAYOR REQUESTED AN EXPRESSION OF APPROVAL <br />FROM THE COMMISSIONERS REGARDING THEIR INTEREST IN THIS PROPOSAL. <br />THE BOARD AGREED THAT THE COUNTY IS NOT IN A POSITION TO MAKE <br />ANY COMMITMENTS IN REGARD TO SPECIFICS UNTIL SUCH TIME AS WE HAVE <br />OUR PLANS ESTABLISHED.
