ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER BOGOSIAN, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER.SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE COUNTY. <br />ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH DR. DONALD .JOHNSON, WHEREBY ALL <br />THE INSURANCE PROPOSALS WILL BE SUBMITTED TO HIM TO EVALUATE AND <br />MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COUNTY, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT HIS <br />CONSULTING FEE WILL NOT EXCEED $20.00 PER HOUR, <br />INSURANCE PROPOSALS WERE RECEIVED FROM; <br />ED SCHLITT AGENCY, INC., VERO BEACH <br />DALRYMPLE - A.RDEN AGENCY, VERO BEACH <br />VERO INSURANCE, INC., VERO BEACH <br />THE CHAIRMAN READ A LETTER FROM HAMILTON ARDEN, JR., <br />PRESIDENT OF INDEPENDENT INSURANCE AGENTS WHICH STATED THAT THEY WERE <br />PLEASED TO RECOMMEND TO THE BOARD THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY THE ED <br />SCHLITT AGENCY, INC., VERO BEACH. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ACCEPTED THE PROPOSALS AS SUBMITTED, <br />FOR REVIEW, AND FORWARDED TO THE INSURANCE CONSULTANT, DR, DONALD <br />JOHNSON FOR EVALUATION. <br />-THE ADMINISTRATOR WAS INSTRUCTED, IN THE FUTURE, TO <br />PERSONALLY CONTACT INSURANCE AGENCIES IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />NOTIFYING THEM THAT THE COUNTY IS ACCEPTING PROPOSALS AND THAT THE <br />SPECIFICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS OFFICE. <br />.JUDGE D.C. SMITH INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE COURTS ARE <br />FACED WITH AN EMERGENCY SITUATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT TWO OFFICIAL <br />COURT REPORTERS HAVE RESIGNED,'LEAVING, ONLY ONE OFFICIAL COURT REPORTER. <br />.JUDGE SMITH STATED IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR ONE COURT REPORTER <br />TO HANDLE THE WORK -LOAD, AND SUGGESTED INSTALLING ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT <br />IN THE CIRCUIT AND COUNTY COURTROOMS. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER BOGOSIAN, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE ADMINISTRATOR TO PURCHASE <br />ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN THE CIRCUIT AND COUNTY *COURT ' ROOMS, NOT <br />TO EXCEED $6,000.00 INCLUDING INSTALLATION-, AND THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR <br />BE AUTHORIZED TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE .JUDGES AND COURT REPORTERS ON <br />A TEMPORARY BASIS UNTIL THE EQUIPMENT IS INSTALLED. <br />-17- <br />FEB 21 1973 ��°�'�18 <br />
