THURSDAY, MAY 24, 1973 <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA MET IN SPECIAL SESSION AT THE COURTHOUSE, <br />VERO BEACH, FLORIDA ON THURSDAY MAY 24, 1973 AT 8:30 <br />O'CLOCK A.M. PRESENT WERE ALMA LEE Loy, CHAIRMAN: EDWARD J. <br />MASSEY$ VICE CHAIRMAN: WILLARD W. SIEBERT, .JR.: RICHARD P. <br />BOGOSIAN. .JACK U. DRITENBAS WAS ABSENT, ALSO PRESENT WERE <br />.JACK C. .JENNINGS, COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR, L.S. THOMAS AND <br />ELIZABETH FORLANI, DEPUTY CLERKS AND .JAMES REAMS, DEPUTY <br />SHERIFF, PAUL D. BURCH, ATTORNEY TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS WAS ABSENT. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER. <br />SHERIFF SAM T. .JOYCE APPEARED REQUESTING THE BOARD'S <br />APPROVAL FOR A BUDGET SUPPLEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $64,227.00. <br />WITH FIVE MONTHS LEFT TO GO IN THIS FISCAL YEAR THE SHERIFF <br />STATES HE WILL HAVE A DEFICIT BALANCE IN SALARIES AMOUNTING TO <br />$15,000.00: EXPENSES OTHER THAN SALARIES - $40,000.00 (INCLUDING <br />AUTO INSURANCE) AND INTANGIBLE TAXES - $9,227.00. <br />CHAIRMAN LOY STATED THAT LAW ENFORCEMENT CARRIES A HIGH <br />PRIORTY IN REVENUE SHARING AND THE BOARD WILL MAKE A DECISION ON <br />THIS REQUEST AFTER REVENUE SHARING HAS BEEN DISCUSSED. <br />PAT CORRIGAN APPEARED REQUESTING THE COUNTY TO REPAIR <br />AND MAINTAIN A BRIDGE THAT MUST BE USED TO GET TO HIS RANCH. <br />THIS BRIDGE IS LOCATED THREE MILES NORTH OF S.R. 60 OFF RANCH <br />ROAD AND CROSSES A WIDE DRAINAGE DITCH ONTO A PRIVATE ROAD, <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR STATED THAT THERE ARE NO BRIDGES BEING MAINTAINED <br />BY THE COUNTY, WHERE A BRIDGE IS OFF A COUNTY ROAD AND THEN <br />LEADS INTO A PRIVATE ROAD. <br />MAY 2 <br />4197' <br />
