ORDINANCE 98- 08 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, UPDATING THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES TO REFLECT THE LATEST <br />EDITION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE <br />(NEC). <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has adopted standard technical codes for its <br />building codes; and <br />WHEREAS, these technical codes are updated and new additions issued from <br />time to time; and <br />WHEREAS, the NEC portion of our local ordinance should be updated to <br />reflect the latest edition, <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT SECTION 401.01. <br />Section <br />is hereby <br />inoperative <br />edition <br />401.01 <br />partially amended <br />to reflect deletion of the <br />NEC <br />1990 <br />National Electrical Code (NEC), 1996 Edition <br />SECTION 2. REPEAL. <br />Those portions of the Indian River County Code superseded or in conflict <br />with the provisions herein adopted, in particular Chapter 401, are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY. <br />If any section, or any sentence, paragraph, phrase, or word of this ordinance <br />is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, inoperative, or void, such holding <br />shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and it shall be construed to <br />have been the legislative intent to pass the ordinance without such unconstitutional, <br />invalid <br />inoperative <br />edition <br />or <br />part. <br />and <br />the <br />addition <br />of <br />the <br />new <br />edition <br />of <br />the <br />NEC <br />as follows: <br />National Electrical Code (NEC), 1996 Edition <br />SECTION 2.
