AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA, UPDATING THE <br />STANDARD TECHNICAL CODES TO <br />REFLECT THE LATEST EDITION OF THE <br />ELECTRICAL CODE. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has adopted standard technical codes for its <br />building codes; and <br />WHEREAS, these technical codes are updated and new additions issued from <br />time to time pursuant to Section 553.73, F.S.; and <br />WHEREAS, the current required updated code is set forth herein, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. <br />Section 401.01 is hereby partially amended to reflect deletion of the 1996 <br />edition of The National Electrical Code and the addition of the new edition of the <br />code as follows: <br />National Electrical Code, 1999 Edition <br />SECTION 2. REPEAL. <br />Those portions of the Indian River County code superseded or in conflict with the <br />provisions here in adopted, in particular Chapter 401, are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY. <br />If any section, or any sentence, paragraph, phrase, or word of this ordinance is <br />for any reason held to be unconstitutional, inoperative, or void, such holding shall not <br />affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and it shall be construed to have been <br />the legislative intent to pass the ordinance without such unconstitutional, invalid or <br />inoperative part. <br />
