TUESDAY, JUNE 12, 1973 <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA MET IN SPECIAL SESSION AT THE COURTHOUSE, <br />VERO BEACH, FLORIDA ON TUESDAY, JUNE 12, 1973 AT 9:00 O'CLOCK <br />A.P. PRESENT WERE ALMA LEE Loy, CHAIRMAN; EDWARD J. MASSEY, <br />VICE CHAIRMAN WILLARD W. SIEBERT. JR.. AND RICHARD P. BOGOSIAN, <br />JACK U. DRITENBAS. ABSENT WERE JACK G. JENNINGS, COUNTY <br />ADMINISTRATOR AND PAUL D. BURCH, ATTORNEY TO THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. ALSO PRESENT WAS ELIZABETH FORLANI, <br />DEPUTY CLERK. <br />CHAIRMAN Loy CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER RELATIVE <br />TO THE PASSAGE OF HOUSE BILL 1331 BY THE HOUSE AND SENATE. <br />HOMER C. FLETCHER, COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR APPEARED <br />AND STATED THAT DUE TO THE PASSAGE,OF HOUSE BILL 1331 AND <br />THE NUMBER OF CHANGES TO THE EXISTING LAW, TO BE EFFECTIVE <br />IMMEDIATELY, IT WAS NECESSARY FOR HIM TO REQUEST FROM THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE A THIRTY DAY EXTENSION IN ORDER TO <br />COMPLETE THE 1973 TAX ROLLS. THIS EXTENSION WAS APPROVED BY <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE. <br />MR. FLETCHER STATED THAT IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH <br />THE PROVISIONS OF HOUSE BILLS 1331 IN THE PREPARATION OF <br />1973 TAX ROLLS, HE IS REQUESTING THAT THE TAX ASSESSOR'S <br />OFFICE BE CLOSED ONE-HALF OF EACH OFFICE DAY BEGINNING THURSDAY, <br />JUNE 14, 1973, UNTIL THE ASSESSMENT ROLLS ARE SUBMITTED TO <br />THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE AS PROVIDED <br />IN SECTION 193.114, F.S. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE COUNTY <br />TAX ASSESSOR'S OFFICE BEING CLOSED ONE-HALF OF EACH <br />OFFICE DAY BEGINNING THURSDAY, JUNE 14, 1973, UNTIL THE TAX <br />ROLLS ARE SUBMITTED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE. <br />THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, ON MOTION MADE, <br />SECONDED AND CARRIED THE BOARD ADJOURNED AT 10:50 O'CLOCK A.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />HAIR AN <br />JUN 121973 17 PAGE1 1 <br />3 <br />
