Section 302.1.. ENFORCEMENT OPTIONS; CITATIONS; PENALTY PROVISIONS. <br />(A). Enforcement Options. <br />(1) Any officer The ,an}mal enr-tre :utherity shall, whenever an owner, <br />person, or animal is deemed to be in violation of this chapter in any <br />manner, take one (1) or more of the following steps, as deemed most <br />appropriate to achieve the desired result: <br />(a). Impoundment of such animal with notification, redemption, and <br />disposition, to be pursued in accordance with this chapter. <br />(b). Issuance of a citation notifying persons to appear in the county <br />court when the officer has probable cause to believe that such person has <br />committed a violation of this chapter.theindian River 4 -Nr ate <br />eentre l e r n an ee . <br />(c) Impoundment shall be mandatory regardless of the means chosen b <br />the animal control authority to prosecute a particular violation in any <br />case in which non -impoundment can be reasonably expected to result in <br />immediate and substantial destruction of life or property, or otherwise <br />adversely endanger the health, safety, and welfare of the public. <br />(1) A citation issued by an officer for violation of the Indian River <br />County animal control ordinance shall contain the following information: <br />(a). The date and time of issuance. <br />(b). The name and address of the person accused of the violation. <br />(c). The date and time the civil infraction was committed. <br />(d). The facts constituting probable cause. <br />(e). The ordinance violated. <br />(f). The name and authority of the officer. <br />(g). The procedure for the person to follow in order to pay the civil <br />penalty,— er to contest the citation, or to appear in court as required <br />under sec,t.ior: 302.11 (B) (2)hereof. <br />(h). The applicable civil penalty if the person elects to contest the <br />citation. <br />(i).
