CHAIRMAN LOY STATED THAT THE BOARD OF REALTORS WAS <br />REQUESTED TO MAKE AN APPRAISAL OF COUNTY,.QWNED PROPERTY IN <br />LAKEWOOD PARK, IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, AND.FELLSMERE, BUT THE BOARD <br />OF REALTORS DECLINED TO HANDLE THESE APPRAISALS. <br />IT WAS THE OPINION OF THE BOARD THAT THE ATTORNEY <br />WRITE THE CITY OF FELLSMERE STATING THAT THE BOARD IS <br />CONSIDERING SELLING THIS LAND IN FELLSMERE AND ASK IF THEY <br />HAVE A NEED FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER MASSEY, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED THE <br />ATTORNEY TO SECURE AN APPRAISAL OF-000NTY'OWNED PROPERTY IN <br />LAKEWOOD PARK, ST. LUCIE COUNTY. <br />CHAIRMAN LOY BROUGHT UP FOR DISCUSSION A COMMITMENT <br />THE BOARD MADE, WITH THE CITY, AT A PREVIOUS MEETING, TO PURCHASE <br />FOUR BEACHFRONT LOTS LOCATED ADJACENT TO VERO BEACH SOUTH BEACH. <br />THIS DECISION WAS CONTINGENT ON OBTAINING STATE AND FEDERAL FUNDS. <br />THE TOTAL AMOUNT FOR THE PROPERTY AT THAT TIME WAS $800,000.00. <br />THIS PROPERTY NOW HAS A PRICE OF $1,000,000.00. <br />THE BOARD OF REALTORS HAS REJECTED OUR REQUEST TO <br />DO AN APPRAISAL OF THIS PROPERTY. <br />THE CITY OF VERO BEACH HAS STATED THEY ARE WILLING <br />TO PAY THE ADDITIONAL MONEY PROVIDED THERE ARE STATE AND FEDERAL <br />FUNDS <br />CHAIRMAN LOY ASKED, "WHAT ARE THE WISHES OF THE BOARD?' <br />SHOULD WE HAVE AN APPRAISAL OF THIS PROPERTY, OR LOOK INTO NEWS' <br />PAPER ADS FOR OTHER BEACHFRONT PROPERTY9" <br />AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION THE BOARD AGREED THAT COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY MEET WITH VAL BRENNAN, PLANNING DIRECTOR AND ED SCHLITT <br />TO PICK OUT AREAS WE NEED APPROACHES TO THE BEACH AREA AND THEN <br />WORK FROM THERE, <br />THE'BOARD WILL DISCUSS THIS AGAIN LATER IN THE MEETING. <br />THE BOARD THEN ADJOURNED AT 12:00 O'CLOCK NOON AND <br />RECONVENED AT 1:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />—13— <br />8a0 1; p4r, 9.8 <br />
