ORDINANCE NO. 2007=041 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 104.06, CODE OF <br />ETHICS AND CONDUCT, OF THE INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY CODE; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; <br />PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, after hearing input concerning the ambiguities of the existing <br />code of ethics and conduct, and the intent of the original sponsor of the <br />ordinance, the Board of County Commissioners has considered amending <br />Section 104.06 of the Indian River County Code, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that Section 104.06, <br />Code of ethics and conduct, of the Indian River County Code is hereby amended as <br />follows: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 104.06, Code of ethics and conduct, is amended to read: <br />Section 104.06. Code of ethics and conduct. <br />(1) This code of ethics is in addition to the requirements of F.S. Ch. 112. <br />Where there is a conflict between F.S. Ch. 112, and this code the <br />more stringent requirement shall apply. <br />(2) This code shall apply to county commissioners and county employees. <br />The term "person" includes commissioners and county employees. <br />Written requests for interpretative rulings concerning the applicability <br />of this code may be submitted to the county attorney for written reply. <br />(3) Information concerning any incident or situation in which it appears <br />that a board appointed county employee or county commissioner may <br />have engaged in conduct contrary to this code should be forwarded by <br />Coding: Words/letters underscored are additions to text; words/letters in <br />format are deletions to text. <br />1 <br />FAAttorney\Nancy\DOCS\ORD\ord 2007 amending 104.06 ethics.doc <br />
