A <br />0 <br />.. <br />i�M <br />I <br />COPIES OF THE RESOLUTION ARE TO BE SENT TO THE <br />GOVERNOR AND THE FLORIDA CABINET, DIRECTOR OF DIVISION OF <br />CORRECTIONS, MUNICIPALITIES, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, EAST CENTRAL <br />FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL, ALL NEWSPAPERS, RADIO STATIONS <br />TELEVISION STATIONS AND ANY OTHER INSTITUTION. ALSO A LETTER <br />REQUESTING THAT THEY ADOPT SIMILAR RESOLUTIONS TO BE FORWARDED <br />TO THE GOVERNOR AND FLORIDA CABINET AND CALL UPON INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS <br />TO SEND TELEGRAMS AND LETTERS TO THE GOVERNOR AND FLORIDA CABINET <br />VOICING THEIR PERSONAL FEELINGS ON THIS PROJECT, <br />GEORGE BLOIS, OWNER OF BEACHFRONT PROPERTY AND BART <br />COLLARD APPEARED TO DISCUSS A PIECE OF PROPERTY THAT THE BOARD <br />CONSIDERED PURCHASING AT THE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING ON NOVEMBER <br />1, 1973. AT THAT MEETING ATTORNEY BURCH WAS AUTHORIZED TO HIRE <br />AN APPRAISOR TO APPRAISE THE PROPERTY AND TO DRAW UP A CONTRACT. <br />ATTORNEY BURCH STATED THAT HE HAD CONTACTED AN APPRAISOR <br />WHO CAME TO VERO BEACH AND LOOKED THE PROPERTY OVER AND GAVE AN <br />ESTIMATED COST OF $1,200.00 TO $1,500.00 TO APPRAISE THIS PROPERTY. <br />ATTORNEY BURCH DID NOT HIRE THE APPRAISOR BECAUSE THE COST WAS, <br />AN HIS OPINION, HIGHER THAN HE THOUGHT THE COMMISSIONERS HAD <br />ANTICIPATED AND HE WAS BRINGING IT BEFORE THE BOARD FOR THEIR <br />RECOMMENDATIONS. <br />IN THE MEANTIME THE BOARD WAS PRESENTED WITH ANOTHER <br />PIECE OF PROPERTY THAT IS FOR SALE FROM THE OCEAN TO THE RIVER <br />LOCATED NORTH OF ST. EDWARDS SCHOOL OWNED BY VERO'MAR DEVELOPMENT, <br />LTD. THIS PROPERTY IS LOCATED IN AN UNDEVELOPED AREA. <br />MR. EARL PADGETT REPRESENTING VERO MAR DEVELOPMENT, LTD., <br />APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD AND STATED THAT THIS PIECE OF PROPERTY IS <br />24 TO 30 ACRES IN SIZE RUNNING FROM OCEAN TO THE RIVER AT A PRICE <br />OF $45,000.00 PER ACRE. <br />CHAIRMAN Loy STATED THAT THIS BOARD HAS BEEN LOOKING <br />FOR OCEANFRONT PROPERTY FOR THREE YEARS AND WHEN MR. BLOIS AND <br />MR. COLLARD CAME BEFORE THE BOARD WITH THIS OFFER, THEY DID US A <br />GREAT SERVICE. THE POSITION WE ARE IN NOW IS THAT WE HAVE BEEN <br />PREVAILED UPON BY THE RESIDENTS IN THE AREA OF THIS PROPOSED <br />-24- <br />Book <br />
