I <br />im <br />i <br />v <br />CHAIRMAN LOY REQUESTED THAT THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT <br />r RELATIVE TO HER REASONS FOR DENYING THE APPLICATION FOR REZONING <br />` OF THE VERO flAR SHORES PROJECT AND THE JONNIE DAHLSTROM ETAL-PROJECT <br />BE INSERTED AS THE FIRST PARAGRAPH ON PAGE 19 AND INSERTED AGAIN <br />ON PAGE 21 AFTER THE FIFTH PARAGRAPH. <br />"IN CHECKING THE MINUTES, I REALIZED THAT I APPARENTLY <br />DID NOT MAKE A STATEMENT RELATIVE TO MY REASONS FOR DENIAL OF THE <br />PROPOSED REZONING APPLICATIONS THAT WERE BEFORE US ON SEPTEMBER <br />19, 1973; THE VERO RAR PROJECT AND THE APPLICATION OF JONNIE <br />DAHLSTROM, ETAL PROJECT. <br />FOR THE RECORD, I WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING <br />STATEMENT: <br />THE PROPOSED CHANGES WERE CONTRARY TO THE ESTABLISHED <br />LAND USE PATTERN FOR THE AREA AS EVIDENCED BY THE MATERIALS SUB- <br />MITTED REGARDING THE GRADUAL, ORDERLY DEVELOPMENT OF THE AREA <br />ACCORDING TO EXISTING ZONING REGULATION. <br />THE PROPOSALS MOULD ALTER THE DENSITY PATTERN WHICH HAS <br />BEEN ESTABLISHED AND ABIDED BY OVER THE PAST MANY YEARS. <br />THESE PROPOSALS WOULD CREATE EXCESSIVE TRAFFIC CONGESTION <br />AT A TIME WHEN THIS BOARD IS RECEIVING SYSTEMATIC COMPLAINTS RE- <br />GARDING THE NEED FOR ADDITIONAL WORK ON A -IP, SOUTH, AND WORKING <br />DILIGENTLY TO SECURE A MUCH NEEDED SECOND BRIDGE TO SERVE THE. <br />AREA. THE GENERAL SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS WOULD BEAFFECTED <br />THESE PROJECTS ARE ACCOMPLISHED, <br />THE PROPOSALS WOULD BE A STIMULUS TO DEVELOPMENT OF ADJACENT <br />PROPERTIES, AT A TIME WHEN UTILITIES AND GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES ARE <br />NOT AVAILABLE TO HANDLE THE ANTICIPATED I11MEDIATE NEEDS, <br />THE PROPOSALS WOULD ADVERSELY AFFECT PRESENT PROPERTY VALUES <br />FOR THE SINGLE FAMILY HOMEOWNER. <br />yy THESE ARE MY PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS BASED ON THE MATERIALS <br />t.
