ATTORNEY BURCH MET WITH DON ADAMS, BUILDING DIRECTOR AND
COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS, TO DISCUSS SITE PLAN PROCEDURES AND FOLLOW-
UP INSPECTIONS AND IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT THE ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCT
DEWEY WALKER,:ZONING DIRECTOR TO INSPECT THIS SAN SOUCI MOBILE HOME
PARK AND IF THERE ARE VIOLATIONS OF THE SITE PLAN HE WRITE TO MR.
SPARKS INFORMING HIM OF HIS FINDINGS AND WHAT HAS TO BE DONE
IN ORDER TO GET ZONING PERMITS -FROM THE ZONING DEPARTMENT AND
TIE DOWN PERMITS FROM THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT,
ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER
MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE PROCEDUREEAS OUTLINED BY
ATTORNEY.BURCH.
ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER
MASSEY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE OUT -OF -COUNTY TRAVEL FOR
ATTORNEY BURCH TO ATTEND A LAND USE PLANNING SEMINAR IN TALLAHASSEE
ON MARCH -13, 1974.
COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE
BOARD, THE FACT THAT FIVE YEARS AGO THIS BOARD AGREED TO A CITY-
000NTY BUILDING DEPARTMENT. IN THE LAST TWO YEARS THIS COUNTY
HAS REALLY SUFFERED GROWING PAINS AND WE HAVE NOW REACHED A PLATEAU
WHERE WE NOW NEED OUR OWN BUILDING DEPARTMENT. COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS
THEN RECOMMENDED THAT THE ZONING, PLANNING, AND BUILDING DEPARTMENT
BE UNDER ONE ROOF AND THIS IS GOING TO REQUIRE A SPLIT FROM THE
CITY AS FAR AS THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT IS CONCERNED. IT WAS ALSO
STATED THAT THE COUNTY SANITATION DEPARTMENT, NOW LOCATED IN THE
HEALTH DEPARTMENT BUILDING COULD BE PUT UNDER THIS ROOF. BY COMBINING
THESE DEPARTMENTS UNDER ONE ROOF IT WOULD BE EASIER FOR BUILDERS AND
CITIZENS TO GET THE APPROVALS AND PAPERS NECESSARY TO UNDERTAKE
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.
COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS STATED THAT HE HAS TALKED TO MEMBERS
OF THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS REGARDING THE POSSIBILITY OF BUYING
THEIR PROPERTY:WHICH IS LOCATED NEAR THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT BUILDING.
AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION A MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER
MASSEY, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY
GRANTED TENTATIVE APPROVAL TO COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS' RECOMMENDATIONS
AND AUTHORIZED THE CHAIRMAN TO WRITE TO THE CITY COUNCIL INFORMING
- 20 -
1974, Boot 19 PACE298
