ORDINANCE NO. 2001= 016 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />REGARDING FIRE PROTECTION REGULATIONS, AMENDING LAND <br />DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS (LDRS) CHAPTER 901 DEFINITIONS; <br />CHAPTER 913 SUBDIVISIONS AND PLATS; CHAPTER 914, SITE PLAN <br />REVIEW AND PROCEDURES; CHAPTER 951, ROAD ADDRESSING SYSTEM; <br />CHAPTER 952, TRAFFIC; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF <br />CONFLICTING PROVISIONS, CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS (LDRS) BE AMENDED AS <br />FOLLOWS. <br />1. Fire Protection Terms Definition <br />Land Development Regulation Section 901.03 is hereby amended <br />to add the following definitions: <br />Fire Protection Definitions <br />The following definitions apply only to emergency <br />vehicle access as it relates to the Florida Fire <br />Prevention Code and the Indian River County Code. <br />a. Fire Lane: The roadway, accessway or other <br />means developed to allow access to structures <br />and operational setup for fire -fighting and <br />rescue vehicles and equipment. <br />b. Setback: The travel distance from the edge <br />of roadway to the nearest building wall <br />measured from the point of emergency vehicle <br />access. <br />c. Public Road: A roadwav (public or private) <br />that has been designated for vehicular use <br />and can be used to provide access to sites <br />for fire protection or emergency services. <br />d. Primary Emergency Access Point: That <br />point(measured from centerline), where the <br />approved and designated primary entrance <br />intersects with a.public road. <br />Coding: Words in st+-ik-o4ltresugh type are deletions from existing law.
