Brown <br />Director, Office of Management & Budget <br />Date: February 9, 2005 <br />Subject: Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 006 <br />APPROVED BY <br />FEB 1 5 2005 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSION <br />Description and Conditions <br />The attached budget amendment appropriates funding necessary for the following: <br />1. The Indian River County Shooting Range has received a donation from the Wal-Mart <br />Foundation as a contribution grant to support youth activities at the Shooting Range. The <br />attached budget entry appropriates these donated funds in the amount of $1,000. <br />2. Repairs to heating units of the fifty -meter pool at the North County Aquatic Center are <br />necessary to maintain a comfortable water temperature for the public. The attached entry <br />appropriates funding from the M.S.T.U. Fund contingency in the amount of $42,163. <br />3. On January 18, 2005 the Board approved a new code enforcement officer position to be <br />funded by the single-family lot canopy tree inspection fee that will go into effect March 14, <br />2005. The attached entry appropriates funding for the position for the remainder of FY <br />2004/05 in the amount of $44,039. <br />4. The Board approved on February 1, 2005 the funding of three new positions from the <br />secondary roads fund. The attached entry appropriates funding for the positions for the <br />remainder of FY 2004/05 in the amount of $174,794 <br />5. As approved by the Board on January 18, 2005, Indian River County has deposited <br />$4,300,000 with the Indian River Community College Foundation, Inc as a match for <br />construction of a full service joint use public/community college branch library. The attached <br />entry appropriates funding in the amount of $4,300,000 from Optional Sales Tax cash <br />forward. <br />6. Indian River County was approved for, and will receive, $500,000 in HOME AGAIN funds <br />from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation to repair homes in the unincorporated County <br />that sustained damages from hurricanes Frances and Jeanne. The attached entry <br />appropriates funding in the amount of $500,000 from the Florida Housing Finance <br />Corporation. <br />7. Due to increased advertising costs and the volume of advertising for personnel vacancies, the <br />advertising budget for Human Resources needs to be increased.
