Brown <br />Budget Manager <br />Date: February 4, 2004 <br />Subject: Miscellaneous Budge mendment 006 <br />Description and Conditions <br />The attached budget amendment appropriates funding necessary for the following: <br />1. On November 4, 2003, the Board of Commissioners approved an amendment to the <br />construction contract for the Agricultural Expo Pavilion at the Fairgrounds changing the <br />guaranteed maximum price to $492,316. The attached entry appropriates funding from <br />Optional Sales Tax Cash Forward. <br />2. Advanced Life Support Charges are exceeding the estimates for the current fiscal year. The <br />increased revenues result in increased collection fees (expenses). The attached entry <br />appropriates funding. <br />3. Various Emergency Services District vehicles need replacement during the current fiscal year. <br />Additionally, the seawall at Station 2 is in need of repair at an estimated cost of $31,000. The <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has provided partial funding ($5,743.46) <br />for the repairs caused by hurricane damage. The attached entry appropriates funding. <br />4. The attached entry appropriates funding for various salary and benefit adjustments as <br />approved by the Board of Commissioners and/or authorized by union or employment <br />contracts during the current fiscal year. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Board of Commissioners approve the attached budget resolution <br />amending the fiscal year 2003/04 budget. <br />APPROVED AGENDA ITEM: <br />BY: <br />James E.
