TO: The Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida <br />FROM: Jack Hockman, Finance Officer <br />DATE: April 17, 1974 <br />SUBJECT: Loan of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to <br />Gene Morris, Tax. Col l e ctor <br />The long delay in collection of ad -valorem <br />tax has caused Gene Morris, Tax Collector to deplete <br />the operating funds for his office. Mr. Morris has <br />requested and received the maximum fee advances of <br />$40,000 as outlined in Florida Statute 192.102. <br />Florida Statute 125.01 (r) allows the Board of <br />County Commissioners to: Levy and collect taxes and <br />special assessments, borrow and expend money, etc. <br />Upon the recommendation of County Attorney, Paul D. Burch <br />and myself, please authorize and allow a loan from <br />Federal Revenue Sharing Funds in the sum of $60,000.00 to <br />be made to Gene Morris, Tax Collector. <br />The disbursement would need to be made in three <br />equal payments of $20,000.00 each, starting April )9th, <br />May 15th and June 14th, 1974 <br />Authority for making temporary operating loans <br />from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds: <br />1.
