Brown <br /> Director, Office of Management &Bu get <br /> Date: September 15, 2004 <br /> Subject: Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 023 <br /> Description and Conditions <br /> The attached budget amendment appropriates funding necessary for the following: <br /> 1. Building Division revenues and expenses are exceeding the projected amounts for the current <br /> year due to growth in building activity. The attached entry appropriates funding as necessary. <br /> 2. The Purchasing Department has experienced higher than expected legal ad expenditures due <br /> to the number of bids solicited. The attached entry appropriates funding from General Fund <br /> contingencies. <br /> 3. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) has issued an Amendment to <br /> the Beach Restoration Grant to fund costs associated with construction of the mitigation reef. <br /> The attached entry appropriates funding in the amount of$1,313,594. <br /> 4. Indian River County has been awarded a grant from the St. John's River Water Management <br /> District (SJRWMD) for certain water quality improvements. This entry appropriates funding <br /> for the East Indian River County Stormwater Master Plan in the amount of$4,330,000. <br /> 5. The Human Services department has experienced an unusually large number of claims for <br /> assistance relating to Hurricane Frances. The attached entry appropriates funding in the <br /> amount of$10,000. <br /> 6. The response and recovery activities for Hurricane Frances have caused the Sheriff's <br /> Department to exceed the current year budget. The attached entry appropriates funding for <br /> these unplanned expenses. <br /> 7. The County has undertaken debris removal activities during recovery after Hurricane Frances. <br /> Some of these expenses are eligible for FEMA reimbursement.
