z <br />PROPERTY THEY PLAN TO HAVE A MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING; A <br />PROFESSIONAL OFFICE BUILDING; SHOPPING COMPLEX; AND A <br />MULTIPLE HOUSING AREA WHERE HOSPITAL PERSONNEL COULD LIVE. <br />ATTORNEY COOKSEY SAID HE FELT THE IMPACT OF THE NEW <br />HOSPITAL HAS CHANGED THE CHARACTER OF THE LAND IN THIS VICINITY, <br />AND POINTED OUT THAT COUNTRY CLUB POINTE, WHICH HAS EXPRESSED SOME <br />CONCERN ABOUT THIS PROJECT, IS ONE-QUARTER OF A MILE AWAY ACROSS <br />THE GOLF COURSE AT ITS NEAREST POINT, <br />ENGINEER JAMES BEINDORF DISCUSSED THE LAYOUT OF THE <br />PROJECT, THE CREEK GOING THROUGH IT AND THE RETENTION POND <br />PLANNED, <br />COMMISSIONER MASSEY SPOKE ABOUT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE <br />PLANNED TO BE PUT INTO THIS AREA AND SAID HE FELT IT IS NOT IDEAL <br />TO HAVE A HIGH DENSITY AREA NEAR A HOSPITAL. <br />VAL BRENNAN, PLANNING DIRECTOR, SAID THERE WOULD BE <br />APPROXIMATELY 3,600 MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL UNITS AND THERE WAS <br />A 300 UNIT MOTEL PLANNED IN THE COMMERCIAL AREA, BUT NOTED <br />THAT THE -PROJECT -DID MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS OF SITE PLAN <br />REVIEW. HE ALSO SAID HE HAD DISCUSSED WITH THE HOSPITAL <br />DIRECTORS WHAT USES SHOULD BE AROUND A HOSPITAL. <br />ATTORNEY COOKSEY POINTED OUT THAT BUCKINGHAMMOCKi THE <br />NEAREST SUBDIVISION TO THIS PROPOSED PROJECT WAS COMPLETELY <br />IN ACCORD WITH THE DEVELOPMENT, <br />COMMISSIONER BOGOSIAN SAID HE WAS CONCERNED WITH <br />GRANTING R-2 ZONING, AS IT COULD GENERATE MOO <br />PEOPLE RIGHT IN THIS AREA. <br />COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS LEFT THE MEETING AT 6:10 <br />0 1 CLOCK P.M. <br />ATTORNEY COOKSEY INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THIS DEVELOPMENT <br />HAD RECEIVED THE UNANIMOUS RECOMMENDATION OF THE ZONING COMMISSION <br />AND ALSO POINTED OUT THAT IT HAS NATURAL BUFFER ZONES ON ALL <br />SIDES WHICH MAKES IT UNIQUE SO YOU WOULD NOT BE SETTING A <br />PRECEDENT IN REZONING IT. <br />CHAIRMAN LoY ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT WISHED TO BE HEARD. <br />40 <br />on <br />BOOK pu PAct230 <br />
