Comprehensive Plan Intergovernmental Coordination Element <br />POLICY 5.8: The county and school board jointly will determine the consistency of proposed <br />school sites and proposed school development projects with the comprehensive plan, as early in the <br />design phase as possible. <br />POLICY 5.9: The county and school board will hold joint meetings as needed. <br />POLICY 5.10: The county and school board shall maintain <br />regarding site selection and site plan reviews for school facilitiesthe interlocal Agreement for <br />Coordinated Planning and School Concurrency. <br />POLICY 5.11: The county shall review site plans for school development projects consistent with <br />the development standards identified in Ch. 163, F.S. and Ch. 2351013 F.S. Site plan review for <br />school projects shall be limited to: <br />• compatibility with the surrounding properties <br />• environmental concerns <br />• health, safety and. welfare concerns <br />OBJECTIVE 6 Coordination of New Dredge Spoil Disposal Sites <br />By 2000, the county will have a coordination mechanism with appropriate agencies for designation <br />of new dredge spoil disposal sites within the county. <br />POLICY 6.1: The county shall coordinate with the navigation and inlet districts and other <br />appropriate state and federal agencies and the public in identifying dredge spoil disposal sites. <br />POLICY 6.2: The county shall utilize the dispute resolution process of the coastal resource <br />interagency management committee to resolve conflicts between the county and public agencies <br />seeking a dredge spoil disposal site. <br />Community Development Department Indian River County 58 <br />
