A MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED <br />BY COMMISSIONER MASSEY, TO ACCEPT THE BID OF GEORGE FOWLER CO. <br />FOR AN ENGINE DRIVEN AC -DC WELDER AND WELDER POWER PLANT AS <br />BEING THE BEST BID MEETING SPECIFICATIONS, IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$1,276.00. <br />THE BOARD QUESTIONED THE HOBART BROTHERS COMPANY BID <br />AND THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR EXPLAINED THAT THEIR BID ON --MODEL <br />G-213 IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,250.00 HAS ONLY ALTERNATING CURRENT AND <br />THE SPECIFICATIONS CALL FOR ALTERNATING AND DIRECT CURRENT. THE <br />MODEL G-3010 IS TCO LARGE A MACHINE FOR THE COUNTY'S NEEDS. <br />THE BOARD INSTRUCTED THE ADMINISTRATOR TO'FURTHER- <br />CHECK WITH HOBART BROTHERS COMPANY REGARDING THEIR MODEL G-213 <br />TO SEE IF IT COULD BE USED ON ALTERNATING AND DIRECT CURRENT, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT WITHDREW HIS MOTION AND COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY WITHDREW HIS SECOND. <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A j <br />PROBLEM REGARDING THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT INSTALLED ON THE <br />SECOND FLOOR COURTHOUSE ANNEX. THIS UNIT IS WORKING AT FULL j <br />CAPACITY, BUT SOME OF THE OFFICES ARE VERY WARM. <br />THE ARCHITECT, .JOHN SCHLITT WAS CONTACTED AND HE <br />j <br />SUGGESTED THAT THE WINDOWS OF THE BUILDING BE BRONZE .:STAINED <br />AND THE�.ROOF BE TREATED WITH A REFLECTOR TYPE WHITE PAINT TO <br />CUT DOWN ON HEAT PENETRATION <br />AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION A MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER BOGOSIAN, THE BOARD AUTHORIZED <br />THE BUILDING COMMITTEE TO LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM AND TO PROCEED WITH <br />WHATEVER IS NECESSARY. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A LETTER <br />RECEIVED FROM F.D. GUNTER OF HOGAN & SONS CITRUS CORP. REQUESTING THAT <br />THE COUNTY TAKE OVER THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF MONROE <br />ROAD BETWEEN LOCKWOOD LANE AND TRIPSON TRAIL. MONROE ROAD EXTENDS <br />FOR FIVE MILES. IT IS A COUNTY ROAD AND IT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED BY <br />THE COUNTY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THIS'ONE-HALF MILE SECTION. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT QUESTIONED IF HIS BEING EMPLOYED <br />BY HOGAN & SONS CONSTITUTES A"CONFLICT.
