AUG 211974 <br />BOGOSIAN, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AUTHORIZED OUT -OF -COUNTY TRAVEL <br />FOR ATTORNEY BURCH TO ATTEND A SEMINAR ON THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING <br />ACT IN GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA ON O CfOBER 4, 1974. <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING DATES FOR <br />THE MONTH OF .SEPTEMBER WILL BE THE 11TH AND 25TH. <br />CHAIRMAN Loy INFORMED THE BOARD OF A LETTER FROM NEY <br />C. LANDRUM DIRECTOR, WITH THE DIVISION OF RECREATION AND PARKS IN <br />WHICH WAS ENCLOSED A STATE WARRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000.00 <br />AS A GRANT-IN-AID TO INDIAN RIVER COUNTY TO ASSIST IN THE PHASE <br />I DEVELOPMENT OF FACILITIES AT KIWANIS-HOBART PARK, LAND AND <br />WATER CONSERVATION FUND PROJECT NO. 12-00051. CHAIRMAN Loy <br />COMPLIMENTED THE EMPLOYEES OF THE ROAD AND BRIDGE DEPARTMENT FOR <br />THEIR WORK ON THIS PROJECT, <br />CHAIRMAN Loy INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE DEPARTMENT <br />OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS HAS MONEY TO FUND COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS, <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING HAS EXPRESSED AN <br />INTEREST IN OBTAINING SOME OF THESE FUNDS WHICH WOULD BE USED <br />FOR A "HOMEMAKER'S SERVICE". THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY WELFARE <br />DEPARTMENT HAS ALSO EXPRESSED .AN INTEREST IN THESE FUNDS, <br />AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION, THE BOARD AUTHORIZED L.S. <br />"TOMMY" THOMAS, COUNTY COORDINATOR TO PROCEED WITH THE APPLICATIONS <br />FOR THESE FUNDS FOR INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COUNCIL ON•AGING AND THE <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY WELFARE DEPARTMENT. <br />COMMISSIONER MASSEY INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE PROBLEM <br />OF HORSES ROAMING FROM YARD TO YARD COMES UP MORE AND MORE, THE <br />BOARD STATED THAT THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT IS WORKING ON AN ANIMAL <br />ORDINANCE THAT WOULD CONTROL THIS. <br />COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE <br />HAS MET WITH SOMEONE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING MEETINGS <br />AT THE TRI -COUNTY REHABILITATION CENTER IN STUART AS A REPRESENTATIVE <br />OF THE BOARD AND QUESTIONED IF THIS PERSON WOULD RECEIVE TRAVEL <br />*:a#M;r <br />THE BOARD AGREED TO AUTHORIZE FOURTEEN CENTS A MILE <br />TRAVEL EXPENSE. <br />16 <br />
