CITY OF SEBASTIAN COUNCILMAN PAT FLOOD AND MAYOR <br />EUGENE CRAGG APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD REQUESTING THE COUNTY <br />TO PROVIDE AND HAUL WHITE SAND TO A LAKE LOCATED IN THE SEBASTIAN <br />HIGHLAND AREA IN ORDER TO ENLARGE THE BEACH AREA, THIS LAKE <br />WAS DEDICATED TO THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN BY THE GENERAL DEVELOPMENT <br />CORP. <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR STATED THAT OBTAINING WHITE <br />SAND WOULD BE A PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED MR. FLOOD INVESTIGATE THE <br />SEBASTIAN AREA FOR THIS WHITE SAND. <br />MR. FLOOD THEN INQUIRED INTO THE FEDERALLY FUNDED <br />MANPOWER PROGRAMS REGARDING THE POSSIBILITY OF HIRING A LIFEGUARD <br />FOR THIS LAKE NEXT SUMMER, THE BOARD DISCUSSED THIS POSSIBILITY. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER BOGOSIAN, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED ONLY THE <br />HAULING OF THE SAND AND NOT SUPPLYING IT AND DELEGATED THE <br />HANDLING OF THIS REQUEST TO THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SIEBERT, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE <br />APPLICATION FOR SUB -GRANT, TITLE II, COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND <br />TRAINING ACT TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, AND AUTHORIZED <br />THE SIGNATURE OF THE CHAIRMAN. <br />3 <br />4. <br />Bon 20 -PAA581 <br />
