J <br /> 8/16/05TOBj rt(MSOL)P W D <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2005- 127 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br /> REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE OF <br /> FLORIDA BEACH EROSION CONTROL PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County has had damage to structures and/or coastal lands by <br /> storms and erosion in areas of public lands,particularly in the unprecedented 2004 hurricane season <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established a Beach Erosion Control Program for <br /> providing financial assistance for erosion control and preservation of the beaches within the State. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board ofCounty Commissioners ofIndian <br /> River County, as follows: <br /> I. The County hereby requests State financial assistance for implementation of coastal <br /> erosion control improvements within Indian River County. <br /> 2. The County hereby designates Jonathan C. Gorham, Ph.D., Coastal Resource <br /> Manager of Indian River County,as the Project Engineer and Agent on behalf of the <br /> County. <br /> THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Commissioner Davi s and <br /> seconded by Commissioner Bowden , and, being put to a vote was as follows: <br /> Chairman Thomas S. Lowther Aye <br /> Vice Chairman Arthur R Neuberger Aye <br /> Sandra L. Bowden Aye <br /> Wesley S. Davis Aye <br /> Gary C.
