3 <br /> RESOLUTION 2005-176 <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br /> COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO DECLARE LOCAL EMERGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, should an emergency situation be beyond the capabilities of Indian River <br /> County to respond, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners would then declare a <br /> local emergency and request assistance from the state to save lives, protect property, public health <br /> and safety; and, <br /> WHEREAS, a Local Emergency may need to be declared when the Board of County <br /> Commissioners are not available; and, <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br /> County, Florida, this 20th day of October, 2005, that <br /> 1. The Board of County Commissioners hereby grants its authority, in <br /> their absence, to the County Administrator, Joseph A. Baird, to <br /> proclaim and declare a State of Local Emergency. <br /> 2. This Resolution shall be effective for the fiscal year of 2005-06. <br /> The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Bowden and the motion was <br /> seconded by Commissioner Neuberger _, and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as <br /> follows: <br /> Chairman Thomas S. Lowther Aye <br /> Vice-Chairman Arthur R. Neuberger Aye <br /> Commissioner Wesley S. Davis Aye <br /> Commissioner Gary C. Wheeler Absent <br /> Commissioner Sandra L.
