• f <br />z <br />THE BOARD DISCUSSED A LETTER FROM HARMON W- SHIELDS, EX - <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES REGARDING <br />THE GOVERNOR AND CABINET POSTPONING UNTIL NOVEMBER 12, <br />1974, <br />ESTABLISHING A COASTAL CONSTRUCTION SETBACK LINE FOR INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY. MR. SHIELDS STATED THAT IF A FURTHER DELAY' IS NECESSARY, <br />IN ORDER TO CONDUCT ENGINEERING STUDIES , OFFICIALS OF EACH <br />MUNICIPALITY WITHIN THE COUNTY•SHOULD PASS A RESOLUTION DECLARING A <br />CONSTRUCTION MORATORIUM ALONG THE OCEAN'SHORELINE UNTIL THE COASTAL <br />CONSTRUCTION SETBACK LINE IS OFFICIALLY ESTABLISHED. <br />AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION A MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS, THAT THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY <br />AGREED THAT THE COUNTY DOES NOT PLAN TO CONDUCT AN ENGINEERING: <br />STUDY AND IS NOT REQUESTING ANY FURTHER DELAY AS WE HAVE NO OB- <br />JECTION TO THE COASTAL CONSTRUCTION SETBACK LINE AS PROPOSED BY <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR INDIAN RIVER COUNTY AND, <br />THEREFORE, WE FIND NO NEED TO DECLARE A CONSTRUCTION MORATORIUM. <br />ON M OTION BY COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />+ SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPOINTED NATHAN DAVIES TO SERVE AS <br />i THE BOARDS REPRESENTATIVE AT ALL MEETINGS OF THE TRI -COUNTY <br />• REHABILITATION CENTER, INC. <br />THE BOARD DISCUSSED THE STATUS OF THE TRANSIT AUTHORITY. IT <br />WAS POINTED OUT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM IN GETTING PEOPLE WITH EXPERTISE <br />IN TRANSPORTATION TO SERVE ON THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE, <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT DISCUSSED A REPORT THAT MUST BE FILED <br />WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE REGARDING THE COUNTY'S PLANS <br />' FOR THE TRACKING STATION SITE. THIS REPORT WAS TO BE FILED BY <br />SEPTEMBER 30, 19741 BUT A 60 DAY EXTENSION HAS BEEN GRANTED. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT HE IS WORKING WITH THE <br />PLANNING DEPARTMENT ON A' RECREATION PLAN FOR THIS SITE, THERE IS ONLY <br />24 FEET OF PROPERTY TO BE USED AS INGRESS AND EGRESS, AND IT WAS THE <br />SUGGESTION OF THE BOARD THAT THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR WRITE A LETTER r <br />TO THE ADJOINING PROPERTY OWNERS REQUESTING AN EASEMENT.
