RESOLUTION NO. 2005- 001 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS 0 <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA DIRECTING DEPOSITORIES 0 <br />COUNTY FUNDS TO HONOR CERTAIN .AUTHORIZED SIGNATURE <br />ON COUNTY CHECKS, WARRANTS, AND OTHER ORDERS FO <br />PAYMENT; PROVIDING FOR BOARD OF COUN <br />COMMISSIONERS AND CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COUR <br />SIGNATORIES; RESCINDING RESOLUTION 'NO. 2004-002; AN <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on January 4, 2005, the Board of County Commissioners o <br />County (` Board") selected Thnma s S 1 nwthPr as Chairman from January <br />January 2, 2006, and Arthur R NPiihPrgPr as Vice Chairman from January <br />January 2, 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, Jeffrey K. Barton is the duly elected Clerk of the Circuit Court f <br />County ("Clerk"), and he serves as clerk and accountant to the Board, pursuant to <br />Florida Statutes (2004); and <br />• <br />Indian River <br />2005, until <br />4, 2005 until <br />r Indian River <br />ection 28.12, <br />WHEREAS, the Board has previously designated certain institutions as •epositories of <br />County funds; and <br />• <br />WHEREAS, the Board's selection of Chairman and Vice Chairma requires a. <br />redesignation of signatories for County warrants, checks, and other orders for t e payment of <br />money drawn on the County's depositories; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the existing financial practic s concerning <br />personnel policies and employee compensation eliminate the need to require man al signatures <br />on salary and other compensation warrants, checks, and other orders paya•le to Board <br />employees. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD • F COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: <br />1. Previous designations by the Board of certain institutions as official deposito ies of County <br />funds are hereby ratified and affirmed. <br />2. Manual signatures shall not be required on any checks, warrants and other <br />payment of money drawn in the name of the Board for the purpose of sal <br />compensation to or for any Board employees. <br />3. Each designated depository of Indian River County funds is hereby authorize <br />to honor checks warrants, and other orders for payment of money drawn: i <br />the Board, including those payable to the individual orders of any person or <br />name or names appear thereon, when bearing both the facsimile signatur <br />and the facsimile signature of the Chairman of the Board, when any such c <br />or other order for the payment of money in Tess than or equal to the sum of t <br />dollars ($3,000). <br />4.
