COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER DISCUSSED WITH THE BOARD THE FACT <br />THAT THERE ARE SO MANY AMENDMENTS TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE THAT HE <br />WOULD SUGGEST THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION BRING THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE UP TO DATE AND TO HOLD BACK AND GROUP ZONING CHANGE RE- <br />QUESTS TO BE BROUGHT BEFORE THE BOARD ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR, THOSE <br />ZONING CHANGES OF AN EMERGENCY NATURE CAN BE BROUGHT BEFORE THE <br />BOARD IMMEDIATELY. COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER STATED THAT ANOTHER MAJOR <br />PROBLEM IS THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE CITY ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE <br />COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE. HE FEELS THEY SHOULD BE SIMILAR. <br />VAL BRENNAN AGREED WITH COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER REGARDING <br />ZONING CHANGE REQUESTS AND HAS SUGGESTED THAT WE ACCEPT THEM ONLY <br />ON A PERIODIC BASIS AND BRING THEM TO THE BOARD AT ONE TIME. IN ANY <br />' <br />ZONING CHANGE, THE TOTAL AREA MUST*BE ANALYZED, <br />ATTORNEY BURCH STATED THAT WE NOW HAVE CODIFIED ALL OUR <br />ORDINANCES, AND THE FIRST SUPPLEMENT WILL BE OUT SHORTLY AND WILL <br />CONTINUE TO BE UP -DATED QUARTERLY, <br />NAL BRENNAN STATED THERE IS LITTLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE <br />+ <br />CITY AND THE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCES; THEY ARE VERY SIMILAR. <br />COMMISSIONER MASSEY STATED THAT THERE ARE FIVE MUNICIPALITIES <br />AND HE FEELS THE CITY SHOULD FOLLOW OUR ORDINANCE. <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE STATED THAT WE ARE OPERATING UNDER A <br />1971 ZONING ORDINANCE WHICH IS STILL NEW. <br />HE FEELS THE CHANGES TO THE ORDINANCE WILL BEGIN TO LESSENv <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT HE AGREED WITH COMMIS- <br />SIONER SCHMUCKERIS SUGGESTION OF SUBMITTING ZONING CHANGES ON A <br />-' <br />PERIODIC BASIS. <br />THE BOARD WAS IN AGREEMENT WITH THESE SUGGESTIONS. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT DISCUSSED WITH THE BOARD THE STATUS <br />OF THE PLANNING RECREATION COMMISSION. HE STATED THAT THEY DO NOT <br />KNOW 'WHAT PRIORITY CYTY AND COUNTY RESIDENTS GIVE TO RECREATION AND <br />THE COMMISSION HAS SUGGESTED PUTTING IT TO A REFERENDUM VOTE.
