Brown <br /> Director, Office of Mana ei ent & udget <br /> Date: August 17, 2005 <br /> Subject: Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 019 <br /> Description and Conditions <br /> The attached budget amendment appropriates funding necessary for the following: <br /> 1. Indian River County has been awarded a $7,500,000 Community Development Block Grant <br /> (CDBG) for Disaster Recovery of various County departments resulting from the hurricanes of <br /> 2004: Indian River County has also been appropriated $14,563,228 in' SHIP Hurricane <br /> Housing Recovery (HHR) funds to help families displaced by the hurricanes of 2004. The <br /> attached entry appropriates CDBG funds in the amount of $7,500,000 and SHIP HHR funds <br /> in the amount of $460,000 for the current fiscal year. <br /> 2. On June 21, 2005 the Board approved the purchase of the Ansin site for $1,939,500. The <br /> attached entry appropriates additional funds from a grant awarded by the Department of <br /> Community Affairs (DCA) to cover this purchase. <br /> 3. Electric charges for the Floralton Beach Streetlights are exceeding the estimated amounts. <br /> The attached entry appropriates funding in the amount of $500 from cash forward for the <br /> remainder of the fiscal year. <br /> 4. The Sheriff's Administration Building needed several repairs and attentions after the <br /> hurricanes of last year. The attached entry appropriates funding from insurance proceeds and <br /> Sales Tax revenue for hurricane repairs in the amount of $286,360 and for Sheriff HVAC <br /> replacement in the amount of$244,766. <br /> 5. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded Indian River County Section 5307 <br /> Grant funds in the amount of $1,250,000 for the current fiscal year. Also, the Board of <br /> Commissioners approved a Public Transportation Block Grant 'agreement from FDOT in the <br /> amount of $298,610.
