FEB 191975 <br />VERO BEACH MAYOR DAVID GREGG, JR@, WAS PRESENT AND EXPRESSED <br />HIS PERSONAL SUPPORT OF THE FORMING OF A CHARTER STUDY COMMISSION <br />TO DO AN IN-DEPTH STUDY@ <br />.JEROME KRAMER, OF THE VERO BEACH CIVIC ASSOCIATION, WAS <br />PRESENT FOR THIS DISCUSSION AND PRESENTED TO THE BOARD A PROFES- <br />SIONAL OVERVIEW STUDY DONE IN SARASOTA COUNTY@ <br />INDIAN RIVER SHORES COUNCILMAN TOM LOCKWOOD WAS ALSO PRESENT <br />AND INDICATED INTEREST IN A CHARTER STUDY COMMISSION@ HE STATED <br />THAT HE WOULD BE OF ASSISTANCE IN WHATEVER WAY HE COULD. <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE STATED THAT, IN HIS OPINION, THE COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS SHOULD DECIDE IF THERE IS GOING TO .BE A CHARTER STUDY <br />COMMISSION AND IF IT IS DECIDED THAT THERE WILL BE A STUDY COMMISSION, <br />THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE COMPLETE FREEDOM IN ORDER TO MADE DECISIONS .AND <br />POLITICS SHOULD REMAIN OUT OF .IT@ HE SUGGESTED THAT A WORKSHOP SESSION <br />BE SCHEDULED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO MAKE THIS DECISION AND FOR THE AT- <br />TORNEY TO REVIEW THE REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO SET UP THIS STUDY COMMISSION.. <br />CHAIRMAN LOY STATED THAT THIS SHOULD BE A CITIZENS PARTICI- <br />PATION GROUP WHO WILL PERFORM THIS SERVICE FOR INDIAN RIVER COUNTY@ <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT HE CONCURRED WITH COMMIS- <br />SIONER WODTKE AND SUGGESTED THAT ALL THOSE WHO HAVE EXPRESSED AN <br />INTEREST IN WORKING WITH THE STUDY COMMISSION MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS <br />IN WRITING SUGGESTING METHODS TO BE USED TO SELECT PEOPLE TO SERVE <br />ON THIS STUDY COMMISSION AND PRESENT THEM TO THE BOARD IN ENOUGH <br />TIME SO THEY COULD STUDY IT BEFORE THE WORKSHOP SESSION@ <br />THE BOARD AGREED TO SCHEDULE A WORKSHOP SESSION TO DISCUSS <br />APPROVING A CHARTER STUDY COMMISSION ON MARCH 6, 1975,.AT 7:30 <br />O'CLOCK IN THE COUNTY COMMISSION ROOM@ <br />DALE PATCHETT, URBAN FORESTER, AND PAUL GOODRIDGE, BOTH <br />MEMBERS OF A COMMITTEE FORMED FOR THE "PRESERVATION OF THE MCKEE <br />JUNGLE GARDENS," APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD@ <br />MR@ GOODRIDGE STATED THAT THE COMMITTEE WAS FORMED FOR <br />THE SPECIFIC FUNCTION OF PRESERVING MCKEE JUNGLE GARDENS FOR PUBLIC <br />USE@ MCKEE GARDENS WAS PUT UP FOR SALE IN THE SPRING OF 1974, AND <br />BOOM 22 PiGE 49 <br />
