a <br />• <br />DE EURNEt1E GUIDE <br />Appendix 10 <br />The following paragraphs and figures are presented as guides for <br />the design and development of new subdivisions. <br />1. "Consideration shall be given to lot orientation with respect <br />to the separation of incompatible land uses. PSesidential lots <br />which face commercial or industrial districts or tiiich face <br />major streets should be avoided where possible. (See Figure 2) , <br />2. Consideration shall be given to the employment of cur- <br />vilinear design in residential subdivisions. The overall layout <br />shall contain a minimum of street intersections. Each block <br />shall have a maximum of minor streets in residential districts <br />greater than 1,000 feet should be avoided where possible. <br />Nfinor streets in residential districts shall be designed so <br />as to avoid through traffic. (See Figure 3.) <br />3. In the general layout of subdivisions, consideration shall <br />be given. to orienting lots with respect to sum angles and <br />prevailing winds. <br />4.
