API <br />91975 <br />STRAW VOTE INDICATED THAT THEY WANT US TO MOVE FORWARD AND THE COMMITTEE <br />FEELS THE COMMISSIONERS SHOULD GO ALONG WITH THE APPRAISAL. <br />JEROME KRAMER, A MEMBER OF THE VERO BEACH CIVIC ASSOCIATION <br />STATED THAT HE DID NOT FEEL THE BOARD SHOULD GO TO THE VOTERS ON A <br />REFERENDUM WITHOUT AN APPRAISAL. <br />COMMISSIONER MASSEY STATED THAT WE SHOULD FIRST DECIDE IF WE <br />ARE GOING TO THE VOTERS. HE STATED THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME <br />INDICATION FROM THE BOARD THAT IF WE HAVE AN APPRAISAL THAT WE WILL GO <br />THE REFERENDUM ROUTE. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT STATED THAT IN HIS OPINION, THE SELLING <br />PRICE IS TOO HIGH AND HE WAS NOT IN FAVOR OF PAYING $2,500.00 FOR AN <br />APPRAISAL, <br />CHAIRMAN LOY STATED THAT SHE IS HESITANT TO GO TO A REFERENDUM <br />ON THE $1,000,000. PRICE AND HAD HOPED WHEN THE COUNTY WENT INTO A <br />MILLION DOLLAR INDEBTEDNESS, IT WOULD BE FOR BEACHFRONT.PROPERTY. SHE. <br />CONTINUED THAT MR. LATTA HAS BEEN VERY PATIENT, BUT BASED ON THE IN- <br />FORMATION WE HAVE AND THE POSITION WE ARE GOING TO BE PUT IN, IF WE <br />SUPPORT AN ADDITIONAL APPRAISAL WE ARE COMMITTED TO A REFERENDUM. <br />MR. PATCHETT STATED THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE COMMUNITY HAS <br />INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD TAKE THE PETITION ROUTE IF NECESSARY AND <br />HE FEELS OBLIGATED TO DO THIS. <br />MR. KRAMER STATED THAT HE COULD NOT BELIEVE A PROSPECTIVE <br />BUYER WOULD MAKE A BID ON THAT PROPERTY KNOWING THAT THE LAND USE PLAN <br />INDICATES THE BEST USE OF THIS PROPERTY WOULD BE A RECREATIONAL USE. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT AS HE SEES IT THE. COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT SPENDING PUBLIC FUNDS TO BUY SOMETHING <br />THEY FEEL IS OVER -PRICED. IF THE COMMITTEE IS INTERESTED IN PETITIONING <br />RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY FOR A REFERENDUM AND CAN RAISE THE MONEY FOR <br />AN APPRAISAL, THEY CAN THEN COME BACK BEFORE THE BOARD TO REQUEST A <br />REFERENDUM. <br />MR. GOODRIDGE ASKED IF THIS WAS PROPER, <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS STATED THAT AN APPRAISAL WOULD BE A CONTRIBUTIOI <br />TO THE COUNTY. <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER WITHDREW HIS MOTION AND COMMISSIONER .. <br />MASSEY WITHDREW HIS SECOND. <br />MR?'
