8. <br />TO: Indian River County, Zoning Commission; & Commissionerss <br />MAY 197$ AIRPORT: (Refers to Old Hibiscus Airport on 12th St. &Glendale Rd.) <br />The undersigned are PROPERTY OWNERS, within approximately six blocks of the Airport. You <br />are studying MANY areas in the county, including the airport, which were re -zoned speci- <br />fically for, Tor, in conjunction with plans for development. Your concern is that these <br />plans have not been implemented over a long:period of time, and that the approved zoning, <br />and/or density needs reconsideration. We agree with you; It has .been about 2 years since <br />the airport was re -zoned. It appears the beautiful plan it was re -zoned for, may never be <br />built, and this logically, nullifies the basis for the present zone. <br />We feel you should consider re -zoning all this airport property, (approximately 80 acres, <br />including multiple, commercial, & industrial portions), to R1, to conform with all sur- <br />rounding Rl properties we, or others own. (This has been the desire of many adjacent re- <br />sidential property owners for many years, for many reasons. Please study the records;) <br />We hereby petition this property be re -zoned R1 Residential until such time a legitimate <br />request°is made with acceptable plan, and approved, for developing otherwise.
