P <br />8/17/06TOBjn(RESO L) P W D <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006- 119 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE OF <br />FLORIDA BEACH EROSION CONTROL PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has had damage to structures and/or coastal lands by <br />beach erosion in areas of public lands, particularly in the unprecedented 2004 hurricane season and, <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established a Beach Erosion Control Program for <br />providing financial assistance for erosion control and preservation of the beaches within the State. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, as follows: <br />1. The County hereby requests State financial assistance for implementation of coastal <br />erosion control improvements within Indian River County. <br />2. The County hereby designates Jonathan C. Gorham, Ph.D., Coastal Resource <br />Manager of Indian River County, as the Project Engineer and Agent on behalf of the <br />County. <br />THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Commissioner Bowden and <br />seconded by Commissioner Wheel er , and, being put to a vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Arthur R Neuberger Aye <br />Vice Chairman Gary C.
