STOKES PERSONALLY FOR HIS <br />s <br />EFFORTS AND PRESENTED HIM WITH A GIFT. <br />ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS REPORTED ON THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANS— ; <br />PORTATION MEETING IN FORT LAUDERDALE THAT HE ATTENDED WITH VARIOUS <br />OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF VERO BEACH IN REGARD TO OVERSIZING THE DRAINAGE <br />i <br />ON 17TH STREET. HE STATED THE D.O.T. AGREED TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY <br />AND ENLARGE THE CULVERTS ON THE DESIGN THE STATE IS GOING TO BUILD IF <br />THE CITY AND COUNTY WILL PICK UP THE DIFFERENCE IN THE COST, HE ALSO <br />SAID THEY AGREED TO REVISE THEIR PLANS AND COME TO THE WEST SIDE OF THE <br />INTERSECTION OF U,S. 1 AND 17TH STREET AND PROVIDE AN OPENING THERE <br />WHERE OTHER WATER CAN BE INTRODUCED INTO THIS DITCH, <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR STATED THAT THE D.O.T.'S BEST ESTIMATE <br />FOR THIS PROPOSED OVERSIZING WAS FROM $40,000.00 TO $45,000.00, AND <br />HE RECOMMENDED THAT THE COUNTY PARTICIPATE ON TA 50-50 BASIS WITH THE <br />CITY OF VERO BEACH ON THE COST OF THIS OVERSIZING AS HE DOUBTED THAT IT <br />COULD BE DONE AS INEXPENSIVELY IN THE FUTURE, <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE ASKED IF THIS DRAINAGE GOES FROM THE <br />RIVER TO U.S. I AND WHETHER THIS WOULD BE THE COST OF OVERSIZING THIS <br />LINE AND GOING ACROSS U. S. 1, <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR SAID THAT WAS CORRECT, AND HE HOPED POSSIBLY <br />TO GET SOME MORE PARTICIPATION FROM THE D.O.T. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />Loy, CHAIRMAN SIEBERT AND COMMISSIONER WODTKE VOTED IN FAVOR, THE BOARD <br />AGREED TO SHARE THE COST OF OVERSIZING THE DRAINAGE ON 17TH STREET ON A <br />50-50 BASIS WITH THE CITY OF VERO BEACH. <br />y <br />THE HOUR OF 9:30 O'CLOCK A.M.
