COMMISSIONER Loy STATED THAT SHE SHARES THE CHAIRMAN'S CONCERN <br />IN REGARD TO THE FUNDS THAT ARE AVAILABLE AND FEELS THIS IS THE MOST IMPERATIVE <br />PROJECT WE HAVE, SHE CONTINUED THAT SHE WOULD LIKE TO URGE THAT THE NEGOTI- <br />ATING PROCEED IMMEDIATELY BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERO BEACH AND THE D.O.T. IN RE- <br />GARD TO THE RELOCATION OF UTILITIES. <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE ASKED IF THE D.O.T. HAS THE RIGHT TO NEGOTIATE <br />ON THE PART OF THE COUNTY. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS ASSURED HIM THAT THEY DID AND URGED THAT THE <br />COUNTY CONCENTRATE ON THE FOCAL POINT, WHICH IS THE BRIDGE, EXERT EVERY <br />EFFORT TO EFFECTUATE THE BRIDGE CROSSING; AND LEAVE THE OTHER NEGOTIATIONS <br />TO THE D.O.T. AND THE CITY. <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ON WHAT THE RESOLUTION SHOULD STATE, AND IT <br />WAS AGREED THAT IT SHOULD AUTHORIZE THE D.Q.T. TO IMMEDIATELY PROCEED IN <br />WHATEVER THEY FEEL IS THE BEST WAY TO ACCOMPLISH THE SECURING OF THE RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY INCLUDING THE USE OF THE POWER OF EMINENT DOMAIN. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER LOY, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, <br />THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AGREED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 76-20 TO BE DRAWN BY <br />THE ATTORNEY AS OUTLINED IN THE PRECEDING DISCUSSION REGARDING COOPERATION <br />WITH THE D.O.T. IN SECURING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THE 17TH STREET BRIDGE <br />AND AUTHORIZED THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN THE RESOLUTION AS PREPARED BY THE <br />ATTORNEY AND FORWARD COPY TO THE CITY OF VERO BEACH ASKING THEIR IMMEDIATE <br />COOPERATION. - ¢ <br />5A 1 7 <br />79. <br />
