"TOMMY" THOMAS, COUNTY COORDINATOR, STATED THAT THEY HAVE <br />ACTUALLY ASKED FOR THE OPTIMUM AND POINTED OUT THAT -THIS WOULD NOT BE A <br />SALE BUT AN IS YEAR LEASE SO THAT AT -THE END OF 18 YEARS ANY IMPROVEMENTS <br />WOULD BECOME COUNTY PROPERTY. <br />--- CHAIRMAN SIEBERT ASKED IF THIS IS BEING REQUESTED AS A SORT OF <br />SOCIAL FUNCTION FOR THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE. <br />ADMINISTRATOR .JENNINGS STATED THAT THE MAIN PROJECT IS THE PISTOL <br />RANGE, BUT THERE WILL BE SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. <br />THE QUESTION AROSE AS TO WHETHER YOU WILL HAVE TO BE A MEMBER <br />OF THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE IN ORDER TO USE THE PROPOSED FACILITIES. <br />MR. THOMAS STATED THAT HE FELT THIS NORMALLY WOULD BE JUST FOR <br />THE MEMBERS, BUT NOTED THAT IN THE LEASE YOU COULD STIPULATE WHO WOULD BE <br />ALLOWED. <br />COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER POINTED OUT THAT MOST OF THE PROPERTY IN <br />` THIS AREA IS RESIDENTIALLY ZONED AND STATED HE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A PISTOL <br />RANGE IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. <br />AFTER FURTHER DISCUSSION, IT WAS AGREED TO DEFER THIS MATTER <br />UNTIL MORE INFORMATION CAN BE OBTAINED, AND THE BOARD INSTRUCTED THE <br />COUNTY COORDINATOR TO CONVEY TO THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE THAT WE ARE <br />! CONCERNED BECAUSE OF THE ZONING AND THE PROXIMITY TO RESIDENCES AND TO <br />DETERMINE IF THEY WOULD CONSIDER SUCH A LEASE PROVIDED THE FACILITIES RE- <br />FERRED TO ARE FOR THE CONTROLLED USE AND BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC. <br />ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS STATED THAT HE HAD RECEIVED A REQUEST <br />FROM CHIEF .JUDGE D. C.
