AUTHORITY FOR BONDS <br />The Bonds are being issued by the County under the authority of and in full <br />compliance with the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Florida, including <br />particularly Chapter 125, Florida Statutes; the Referendum Resolution as <br />supplemented by the Bond Resolution and by the vote of the electors of the County on <br />November 2, 2004, in accordance with Chapter 100, Florida Statutes; and the <br />Referendum Resolution. <br />PURPOSE OF ISSUANCE <br />The Referendum Resolution defines "Projects" to mean the acquisition by the <br />County of lands to protect water resources and/or drinking water sources, <br />environmentally significant lands, historic sites, and/or agricultural land, by <br />purchasing interests in lands to protect water resources and/or drinking water sources, <br />environmentally significant lands, historic sites, and/or agricultural lands including, <br />but not limited to, fee simple interest, less than fee simple interest, conservation <br />easements, the purchase or transfer of development rights, and the acquisition of other <br />similar interests in lands to protect water resources and/or drinking water sources, <br />environmentally significant lands, historic sites, and/or agricultural lands, together <br />with the necessary preservation, restoration, remediation and reclamation activities to <br />preserve, protect, or enhance such property, or, in the case of agricultural lands, to <br />maintain the agricultural purpose of such property or restore such property to its <br />natural state , including customary and necessary costs and expenses incurred in the <br />acquisition of any such lands and all expenses incident to the sale, issuance and <br />delivery of the Bonds, all as shall be more specifically determined by subsequent <br />resolution of the County. <br />For a complete description of the terms and conditions of the Bonds, reference is <br />made to the Bond Resolution, the form of which is included as Appendix B to this <br />Official Statement, "Form of Bond Resolution." The description of the Bond Resolution, <br />the Bonds and information from reports contained herein do not purport to be <br />comprehensive or definitive, and reference is made to the complete Bond Resolution, on <br />file with the County, for the terms thereof. <br />THE ACQUISITION PROGRAM <br />3 <br />
