u <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2004-037 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br /> FLORIDA, CREATING A GROWTH TASK FORCE. <br /> WHEREAS, the recent pace and intensity of land development in <br /> Indian River County has sparked substantial community interest and the <br /> formation of the Riomar Neighborhood Association; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners received a <br /> request from the Pelican Island Audubon Society and the Riomar Neighborhood <br /> Association to impose a selective moratorium on development; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners <br /> proposed certain limited interim growth control measures; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners sought <br /> widespread community input on the proposed interim growth control measures at <br /> a series of separate meetings/workshops in Indian River County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the participants were evenly divided as to the <br /> advisability of adopting or not adopting interim growth control measures; and <br /> WHEREAS, all factions of the public indicated a willingness to work <br /> together to identify issues of concern related to growth and make <br /> recommendations to the Board for changes with a broad base of consensus, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that <br /> 1.
