ATTORNEY. COLLINS INFORMED MR. JACKSON THAT THERE IS PRESENTLY <br />A CONFLICT BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERO BEACH AND THE COUNTY AS TO THE AMOUNT <br />OF GALLONAGE AVAILABLE AND NOTED ALSO THAT THE COUNTY PREVIOUSLY GAVE A <br />WATER ALLOCATION TO A PARTY AND THE CITY DENIED IT. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER 110DTKE, <br />THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AGREED, BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THEIR ATTOR- <br />NEY AND THE INFORMATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME, TO DENY THE REQU13T MADE <br />BY ATTORNEY JACKSON. <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO <br />FOLLOW THROUGH ON APPLYING FOR FUNDS UNDER TITLE IV FOR THE DIVISION OF <br />FORESTRY AND THE FIRE UNITS AS HE FEELS IT WILL HELP WITH THE WORK HE IS <br />TRYING TO DO WITH HIS FIRE STUDY COMMITTEE, AND IT WILL ALSO ASSIST THE <br />DIVISION OF FORESTRY IN TRYING TO SHOW THE NEEDS OF THIS PARTICULAR AREA <br />SO THEY CAN ATTEMPT TO GET A LARGER ALLOCATION NEXT YEAR. HE STATED THAT <br />• THE APPLICATION IS IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,053.50 AND WILL REQUIRE MATCHING <br />FUNDS FROM THE COUNTY. COMMISSIONER WODTKE NOTED THAT ATTACHED TO THE <br />APPLICATION WILL BE A LIST OF THE REQUESTS RECEIVED FROM ALL FOUR OF THE <br />ELIGIBLE AREAS, WHICH ITEMS AMOUNT TO A TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY $21,000. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER WODTKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SCHMUCKER, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED MAKING APPLICATION TO THE U.S. <br />DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOR FUNDS UNDER TITLE IV R.D.A. RURAL COMMUNITY <br />FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZED THE SIGNATURE OF THE CHAIRMAN. <br />JACK HOCKMAN, FINANCE OFFICER, DISCUSSED WITH THE BOARD THE <br />GENERAL.REVENUE SHARING PLANNED USE REPORT AND INFORMED THEM THAT THE <br />AMOUNT THAT WAS TO BE EXPENDED BY JUNE 30TH HAS BEEN TOTALLY EXPENDED SO <br />THAT THERE IS NO MONEY IN JEOPARDY BECAUSE IT WAS NOT USED. HE STATED <br />THAT IN THE PLANNED USE REPORT UNDER DISCUSSION, THE BOARD MUST DECIDE IN <br />WHAT CATEGORIES TO PUT $295,423.00. <br />COMMISSIONER Loy SUGGESTED PUTTING $290,0100 IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL <br />PROTECTION CATEGORY, WHICH WOULD COVER SANITARY LANDFILL, AND PUTTING THE <br />REMAINING FUNDS IN THE RECREATION CATEGORY. <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT STATED HE WOULD BE WILLING TO ACCEPT THIS REC- <br />OMMENDATION BUT FELT THAT WE UNDOUBTEDLY WILL HAVE TO SPEND SOME MONEY IN <br />THE AREA OF PUBLIC SAFETY ALSO, <br />8 <br />JAN 1976 r- <br />�n or 7 <br />i <br />
