GRi G I N A L <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2005- 040;, <br /> A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AN <br /> APPLICATION FOR A PUBLIC LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION GRANT <br /> FOR THE JOINT USE LIBRARY AT THE MUELLER CAMPUS OF <br /> INDIAN RIVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE <br /> WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners took actions <br /> during 1984, 1985, and 1986 to consolidate the establishment of a countywide public <br /> library. system known as the Indian River County Library System; and <br /> WHEREAS on January 4, 2005, and on January 18, 2005, at duly advertised <br /> regular meetings, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners authorized a <br /> full service joint use public/community college branch library as part of the Indian River <br /> County Library System and located at the Mueller Campus of the Indian River Community <br /> College of approximately 30,000 square feet on five (5) acres of high visibility, high public <br /> access buildable land at the Mueller Campus ("Library"), together with sufficient parking <br /> for Library users (the Library and parking hereinafter collectively referenced as "Library <br /> Facility"); and <br /> WHEREAS, in furtherance of the decisions of the Indian River County Board of <br /> County Commissioners at the January 4, 2005 and January 18, 2005 meetings, a <br /> Funding Agreement and Memorandum Of Understanding ("Agreement') was prepared and <br /> executed as of January 25, 2005 (the "Effective Date"), by and among Indian River <br /> County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida; Indian River County Clerk of the <br /> Circuit Court, a constitutional officer pursuant to Article V, section 16, of the Florida <br /> Constitution; Indian River Community College Foundation, Inc. a Florida not-for-profit <br /> corporation; and The District Board of Trustees of Indian River Community College, a <br /> political subdivision of the State of Florida ; and <br /> WHEREAS, in connection with the Library, the Indian River County Board of County <br /> Commissioners is applying for a Public Library Construction Grant from the Florida <br /> Department of State Division of Library and Information Services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Library Construction Grant application requires a Resolution <br /> from the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br /> 1. The Public Library Construction Grant application for the Library, in substantially <br /> the form attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof by this reference, is <br /> hereby authorized for submission to the Florida Department of State Division of <br /> Library and Information Services. <br /> 1 <br />
