CHAIRMAN SIEBERT PRESENTED TO BETTY RYALL RESOLUTION "10*,. 76-`44- <br />THANKING <br />6-44 <br />THANKING HER FOR HER COOPERATION WITH INDIAN RIVER COUNTY AFTER GEORGE <br />STOKES, VETERANS SERVICE OFFICERS RETIRED, SAID RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED <br />AND MADE A PART OF THE MINUTES AT THE MEETING OF ,TUNE 23, 19760 <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT PRESENTED TO DALE PATCHETT RESOLUTION "J0, 76-43 <br />THANKING HIM FOR HIS SERVICES AS URBAN FORESTER, SAID RESOLUTION WAS <br />ADOPTED AND MADE A PART OF THE MINUTES AT THE MEETING OF .JUNE 23, 2976, <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT PRESENTED TO RALPH LUNDY RESOLUTION "0, 76-142 <br />THANKING HIM FOR HIS WORK ON THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE, <br />SAID RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED AND MADE A PART OF THE MINUTES AT THE MEETING <br />OF MUNE 23, 1976, <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT NEXT DISCUSSED A PROPOSED RESOLUTION REnUESTING <br />THAT THE ORIGINAL DEDICATION BY THE TRUSTEES OF THE INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT <br />FUND OF PROPERTY FOR KIWANIS-HOBART PARK BE EXPANDED TO ALLOW AN INTERIM <br />USE OF PART OF THIS PROPERTY FOR LANDFILL PURPOSES,. HE REQUESTED THAT <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR GIVE THE PRESS A HISTORY OF THIS SITUATION, EXPLAINING <br />WHY SUCH A RESOLUTION IS NECESSARY, <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR EXPLAINED THAT THE COUNTY ORIGINALLY STARTED <br />ACCEPTING SOLID WASTE FROM THE CITY AT THE COUNTY DUMP IN SOUTH GIFFORD <br />AFTER A PROBLEM AROSE AT THE CITY DUMP BECAUSE OF SMOKE BOTHERING THE <br />PILOTS, THEN THE COUNTY STARTED RUNNING OUT OF LAND,.THE CITY WENT TO <br />THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION AND LEASED 69 ACRES ON AIRPORT PROPERTY, <br />AND AFTER THE LANDFILL WAS DESIGNED, THE COUNTY MOVED ON AND OPERATED <br />THE LANDFILL, MOW THE F.A.A.HAS A NEW PROBLEM WITH BIRDS INTERFERING <br />WITH AIRCRAFT, AND THE CITY HAS BEEN INFORMED THAT THE LANDFILL MUST BE <br />MOVED OFF THIS PROPERTY WITHIN A VERY SHORT TIME, THE ADMINISTRATOR <br />NOTED THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO MOVE WITHIN NINE OR TEN MONTHS IN ANY EVENT, <br />AND HAVE_BEEN SEEKING ADDITIONAL PROPERTY TO MOVE TO, BUT THIS HAS NOW <br />BECOME AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, HE ALSO POINTED OUT THAT ANY PROPERTY WE <br />MOVE TO MUST MEET DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION REQUIREMENTS <br />AS WELL AS THOSE OF OTHER STATE AGENCIES, THE PROPERTY UNDER DISCUSSION <br />CONSISTS OF APPROXIMATELY 150 ACRES LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST QUADRANT OF <br />THE HOBART PARK PROPERTY, THIS PROPERTY HAS ALREADY BEEN GONE OVER BY THE <br />N <br />
